We are a modern, standalone psychiatric hospital located in Spokane, Washington providing specialized treatment for mental health and co-occurring disorders (concurrent mental illness and substance abuse issues), as well as detoxification services for adults.
Inland Northwest Behavioral Health provides a secure, stable, nurturing and therapeutic environment to adults needing crisis stabilization and/or 24-hour care to manage psychosis, severe depression, anxiety or other mood disorders. Our treatment programs and daily structured activities are based on an individual’s needs and goals.
We provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and effective treatment of the following behavioral health issues:
Acute inpatient hospitalization occurs only with a physician’s order for conditions that cannot be safely or effectively treated on an outpatient basis. It is the most intensive level of care offered, providing:
Inpatient hospitalization is always short-term and designed to quickly stabilize the most serious symptoms to allow a quick transition to less intensive levels of care.
The goal of our Crisis Stabilization program is brief symptom stabilization, after which patients may be transferred to one of our longer-term units for further stabilization and care. Treatment on the Crisis Stabilization unit sometimes occurs on an involuntary basis, if patients are deemed dangerous to themselves or to others.
Treatment on our Mental Health unit is indicated for people experiencing severe mental illness that impacts their ability to function independently and safely. Symptoms treated include depression, anxiety and psychosis. Length of stay is typically longer than on our Crisis Stabilization Unit. 24-hour supervision is provided in a safe and supportive environment. Patients are offered group and milieu therapy in a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities. Patients also receive psychopharmacology under the care of a physician, who leads a multidisciplinary team of highly trained clinicians.
A variety of therapy services such as music and recreational therapy are provided throughout the course of treatment. These alternative therapies are offered as an adjunct to our various psychotherapy programs.
